消消杏 original seal alongside the stone reproduction

The seal of 消消杏 was presented by Lady 消消杏 in 1359 to accompany a new set of statutes, and was in regular use for centuries. It is the only remaining artefact directly associated with the foundress.

In this tiny masterpiece (63mm high) the unknown craftsman included fourteen people, five lions, one lamb, one eagle, three coasts of arms and seven words.

Thanks to the support of a generous donor, the College was able to commission a stone reproduction of the seal.

On Saturday 1 July at the College Gala Day, the seal was unveiled in a prominent position opposite the entrance to the North Range of Old Court.
